I will be doing neither of these events this year and this will be the last year August falls between these art months. If you find yourself at BlueStar on First Friday, curator Kevin Rayhons is re-opening the photographic gallery The February Collective and yours truly, Thomas Cummins, will be the first photographer he will be showing. The Jive Refried and Cofa Productions will bring back the live art exhibition FRONT WINDOWS: Art Happening/Installation on Friday, August 7 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Jive Refried is located at 919 South Alamo. Gemini Ink is hosting a First Friday Reading on Friday, August 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is open to the public. Gemini Ink is located at 513 South Presa. Gemini Ink staff will read from their works. More information is available online at www.geminiink.org.
C4 Workspace Gallery and Guajardo & Associates Architectural Services present the First Friday Art Exhibit on Friday, August 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit will feature Texas Artist Dick Davidson. C4 Workspace is located at 108 King William. The web address is www.c4workspace.com.
The Rattletree Trio will perform at the Blue Star Brewing Company on First Friday, August 7 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Blue Star Brewing Company is located at 1414 South Alamo. Art at the Jalapeno. The newest San Antonio First Friday Art Venu. We have a large fenced in parking lot with no neighborhood to worry about. And since jalapenos aren’t spicy enough, we added a dash of music and atmosphere to the Art at the Jalapeno menu for a kick back and relax environment for everyone to enjoy the San Antonio night air.
